Celliers van der Merwe
Dean of Faculty & Students Barstow Ningbo

With ten years of experience, Celliers specializes in teaching and leadership from Grade 7 to Grade 12. Currently serving as the Dean of Faculty and Students at Hanvos Kent—The Barstow School (Ningbo Campus), Celliers also teaches AP Computer Science.
He uses his CELTA training in the classroom to focus on student-centered learning, academic excellence and engaging educational experiences. He is also completing his DELTA to embrace continued learning and keep growing. His passion for developing and nurturing drives him to always give his best to students and colleagues.
A decade of leadership experience and his empathetic nature serve him equally well when implementing systems and fostering positive relationships throughout the campus. His innovative and creative approach to problem-solving ensures effective solutions to any challenges.
His BSc in Psychology enables him to understand and connect with students, parents, and colleagues on a level that establishes confidence and trust, which is extremely important for an educator and a leader who empowers those around him.
