Pinghu

Located along the coastline of northeast Zhejiang Province, Pinghu is a scenic county-level city crisscrossed by a network of winding rivers. Despite its small size, Pinghu packs a big punch when it comes to offering visitors an authentic taste of eastern Chinese culture and traditions.

Pinghu boasts a long heritage dating back over a millennium. This storied past can be glimpsed at Mo’s Manor, a well-preserved Qing Dynasty official mansion complex. Don’t miss the East Lake Scenic Area surrounding picturesque Donghu Lake, dotted with pavilions, gardens and the towering Jiulongshan Holiday Resort.

Getting to Pinghu is a breeze thanks to its prime location in the Yangtze River Delta region. It’s just over an hour’s drive from Shanghai via the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway. Within the city, an affordable public bus network provides convenient transportation.

Modern amenities abound with international schools, Western clinics and a variety of housing options for expatriates. The city center offers ample dining choices including local seafood specialties taking advantage of Pinghu’ s coastal location.

With its rich heritage, proximity to major cities, pleasant riverine scenery and developing economy, Pinghu provides an enticing smaller city experience in China’s prosperous east coast region.
